A hard plastic case with some spaces to put things in. I purchased it as i was curious to see what it was for and after researching i discovered it was used to carry a small cleaning kit by the german army. It fits perfectly my hand warmers , lighter , ferro rod ....etc . awesome to keep stuff from getting lost in your mountain backpack. Highly recommend!
